Rest In Peace..Watercolor..Texas Artist..Rae Andrews..SOLD!

I just finished Rest In peace.. It is a large watercolor on Arches paper.

I struggled with the mood of this painting. Maybe because I have been painting so many lighter, brighter, warmer and small watercolors, who knows.

I am pleased with it (now). I wasn't  for a while though. It was almost in the trash.

This painting has SOLD!

This painting is also available in prints through Fine Art America:

Bountiful..Abstract Floral..Watercolor.. Texas Artist...Rae Andrews

Hot of the press! This is another 12" x 16" unframed watercolor on Arches paper.

Trying to stay as loose and 'playful' as I can with these florals.. Having a great deal of fun.

No pre-drawing at all involved, it's all allowing the paint to move and make the images.

Try it, you will certainly have to let go of all the disciplines of traditional watercolor.

This image comes unframed.
12" x 16"
$150 including S/H within the contiguous USA.

Prints available at Fine Art America:

Bluebird by Char Fitzpatrick | Bird Watercolor

8"x10"
Watercolor
Bluebird by Char Fitzpatrick
©2014 Char Fitzpatrick

True bluebirds in Oregon, unlike bluejays, are sweet, small, bright blue birds with rosy tummies. Once in decline, efforts have been made to restore their numbers. As with the other works I did for my niece's wedding, I left much of the white paper for brightness. I also used a pencil head dipped in orange paint as a stamp to create the small berries.

Party Bouquet by Char Fitzpatrick | Watercolor Painting | Floral Still Life

18x24
Watercolor

Party Bouquet by Char Fitzpatrick

Another experimental painting in which I was trying to capture the vivaciousness of dahlias. I crazily threw in the color and then applied zig-zaggy outlines to express the gaiety and movement of the hues. I was particularly entranced by stems in the water through the transparency of the vase.

"Snow Covered Boughs" watercolor painting by Linda Bein

"Snow Covered Boughs"
watercolor on yuppo paper
24"x26"
$495
email Linda at lindaabein@gmail. to purchase
I do miss the snow; it is pretty as it gently lands on the bare tree branches and  floats  to the ground.  But it is not usually that serene more like the wind whips up and you have white outs and driving is impossible and the snow drifts cover your door and the drive needs to be shoveled and I shouldn't forget the negative wind chills!!!! Gives me the chills just remembering those days up north!!! But it is pretty!

"Silent Night" watercolor by Texas artist Linda Bein

"Silent Night"
transparent watercolor
22"x15"
$215

There is something peaceful and restful in the new fallen snow.  It is so quiet, a good time to reflect on all those blessings that you are thankful for. It seemed an appropriate time of the year for  "Silent Night"; it was done as a monochromatic demo.  Next time I may put in an evergreen tree (of course it will be blue) and one big bright star in the sky.  I have also thought of  putting footprints in the foreground, disappearing as they go off into the night.  It is a good lesson in glazing layer upon layer of color.

"Coconuts" watercolor by Texas artist Linda Bein

"Coconuts"
watercolor on yuppo paper
24"x26"
$695
"Coconuts" was created on yuppo paper, it is more like plastic than paper, an acrylic sheeting with transparent watercolor.  The background sand or water was lightly brushed on, watercolor paint out of the tube was then mixed with water and squirted on with a nozzle bottle for the trunk.  The palm fronds were painted on with a paint brush and lifted off with the brush.  You can wipe it back to white paper unless you are using a staining pigment. The paint slides on and off the yuppo paper like a child on a slide.
