Garden Gaiety..Watercolor..Texas Artist..Rae Andrews

A loose and spontaneous watercolor, this one was great fun to paint.

I did not pre-draw anything. I just found shapes onto which to build my flowers after a loose throw of paint.

I am always telling my students to leave the whites of the paper showing through, and to be aware of the shapes they make as well, no two white shapes should be the same size and importance.

If the design is a good one, the painting should be successfully turned in most directions and still look okay.

Try it, this way of painting is very freeing..

                                           This image is 15" x 22" unframed.

                                                           $350 plus S/H

                                                       Thanks for visiting..

Bountiful..Abstract Floral..Watercolor.. Texas Artist...Rae Andrews

Hot of the press! This is another 12" x 16" unframed watercolor on Arches paper.

Trying to stay as loose and 'playful' as I can with these florals.. Having a great deal of fun.

No pre-drawing at all involved, it's all allowing the paint to move and make the images.

Try it, you will certainly have to let go of all the disciplines of traditional watercolor.

This image comes unframed.
12" x 16"
$150 including S/H within the contiguous USA.

Prints available at Fine Art America:

Floral Fanfare..Watercolor abstract.. Texas Artist...Rae Andrews

Happy New Year everyone! I am trying to get back in the proverbial groove again, and have spent the day in my very neglected studio at last.

How much better than to ring in the New Year painting huh?

This image is all about play and I guess I still have fireworks on my mind or in my ears! :))

I am going to try to do a few more still life florals in this loose watercolor way for you. I hope you enjoy them.

This image is unframed and 12" x 16".
$140 plus S/H

"Bucket of Apples" transparent watercolor by Texas artist Linda Bein

"Bucket of Apples"
transparent watercolor
22"x15"
$375
Fall is the perfect time for apple picking.  We would  pick a bushel or two every fall when we lived in New York State, the orchard was less than a mile from our house.   The kids enjoyed the wagon ride, eating an apple and picking more. Of course the donuts and cider were a big hit too. And they couldn't wait for all the  baked goods we made, cakes, pies, breads, applesauce, donuts.  I can smell the yummy apple cinnamon aroma wafting from the kitchen now.

"Fall Color" watercolor by Texas artist Linda Bein

"Fall Colors"
Transparent Watercolor
22"x30"
$1295
I love to splash paint on the paper and spray it with water and let it run.  It is also fun to lay another paper on top of that and make a print as I did here.  But then you have to make both paintings come together.  Since I love trees, hills, foliage, and the outdoors these type of paintings become abstract landscapes.  The other painting is still a work in progress!   If you are interested in this painting or others contact Linda at lindaabein@gmail.com
