June 1st is World Environment Day, celebrated at the Chicago Botanic Garden. The full staff is out in force, along with thousands of visitors who want to see the garden in its spring glory and learn steps we can take to better protect our natural world.


The irregular stone staircase leads from the English Walled Garden to the Conifer hilltop, winding alongside Poppy Hill. Differing gardens and environments connected by a single stairway.
